Usher is set to take the concept of a Las Vegas residency to a whole new level in 2024.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced that the Grammy Award-winning R&B star will headline the Super Bowl 58 halftime show in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024. Usher is no stranger to Vegas, where he has performed dozens of shows as part of two separate residencies.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner returns to the Super Bowl halftime stage after making a guest appearance in 2011 alongside the Black Eyed Peas.

"It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list," Usher said in a statement. "I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before"

Jay-Z, the founder and owner of Roc Nation, also shared a statement within the NFL's official release:

Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he's been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul. His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can't wait to see the magic.

Super Bowl 58 marks the second year in which Apple Music is the sponsor of the halftime proceedings. In 2023, the music streaming service of the media and tech conglomerate replaced Pepsi, which sponsored the halftime show from 2013-2022.

Super Bowl halftime show performers 2024

On Sept. 24, the NFL announced that Usher would be the headline performer at halftime of Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas.

It is unclear if Usher will have any guests join him on stage, but he has had several major collaborators throughout his career, many of whom are candidates to share some of the Super Bowl spotlight.

The announcement comes nearly one year from the date of the announcement of last season's Super Bowl halftime performer. In 2023, Rihanna performed a medley of her greatest hits at the Super Bowl 57 halftime show in Arizona.
