Lucknow Super Giants are set for a major shake-up in their backroom staff ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League season.
After another inconsistent campaign, the franchise appears ready to revamp its leadership structure. Plans include bringing in a new mentor who will have a broader role across the RPSG Group's cricket projects.

Zaheer Khan's stint with LSG could come to an early end
According to a report by Times of India, LSG will part ways with Zaheer Khan after just one season in the role. The former India pacer joined in 2024 as Gautam Gambhir's replacement - doubling up as bowling coach following Morne Morkel's departure.
Before his LSG stint, Zaheer spent several years with the Mumbai Indians, serving in senior cricket operations and player development roles.
New mentor to oversee multiple RPSG franchises
Sources told TOI that LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka - currently in the UK for The Hundred, plans to appoint a Director of Cricket who will work year-round with LSG, Durban's Super Giants in the SA20 and Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
This expanded role will focus on talent development, scouting and strategic planning across all three franchises.
Bharat Arun takes charge of pace bowling unit and more
Earlier this month, LSG named former India bowling coach Bharat Arun as the new pace-bowling lead. Arun will also scout and mentor young fast bowlers for the RPSG franchises abroad.
Speaking about his appointment, Arun said there is a clear focus on building a fearless and tactically sharp fast-bowling group that can compete with the best.
Under Rishabh Pant's leadership in IPL 2025, LSG showed flashes of quality but failed to deliver consistent results. The restructuring, beginning with Zaheer's exit and Arun's arrival - signals a fresh approach as the team looks to mount a stronger challenge next season.
