Delhi Capitals (DC) continue to hold on to the playoff spot despite losing three of their last five matches while sitting fourth in the Indian Premier League 2025 points table.
They are next up against against seventh-placed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
DC's most recent defeat came against a dominant RCB team, who beat them by 6 wickets in Delhi. Stagnant batting performances from their experienced stars, Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul, stunted the side's momentum in the middle overs as they posted 162/8, which they failed to defend.

Meanwhile, KKR's last match was washed out due to rain, in a game where they conceded 201/4 in the first innings. Ajinkya Rahane & Co. have just one win in their last five matches, and KKR are in a tricky spot as they push for playoff qualification.

IPL 2025: DC vs KKR - Win prediction
The home side DC will start as slight favourites to win this clash over KKR, who have struggled for consistency with the bat this season.
However, during their title-winning season last year, KKR did the double over DC where Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine played key roles in each of the matches.

They will continue to be the biggest threats for DC's batters in the middle overs. If a similar pitch used during the DC vs RCB game is used, the spin duo could exploit the conditions in the middle, as we saw the likes of Rahul and du Plessis struggling to get going.
But DC are a much more balanced team, both in bowling and batting, while KKR have a strong bowling attack, but faces a major issue in the middle order. Their batters between No. 4-to-8 average the lowest in the middle overs (7-15) among all teams.

The likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell have failed to fire this season. As a struggling KKR faces a bowling unit consisting of Mitchell Starc, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, things can turn for the worse for the visitors if they do not find a solution to their batting woes.
With a stronger balance and home advantage, DC are expected to prevail over the inconsistent KKR as the hosts push for a top-two spot in the standings.
