Way back in 2008, in the very first IPL, rain cancelled one match. Kolkata Knight Riders were set to play Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), but rain abandoned the match without a single ball bowled. Both teams got 1 point each.

How many IPL matches have been fully abandoned?
Over the years, full washouts have happened in these seasons (zero balls bowled). The KKR vs PBKS match on April 26, 2025, at Eden Gardens saw the visiting team complete the full first innings, however, the match had to be called off after KKR's first over in the run chase due to heavy rainfall in Kolkata.
