Mumbai Indians' star Suryakumar Yadav added a new feather to his illustrious career in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The right-handed batter, who also happens to be the captain of the Indian national side in the T20 format, played a fine knock for his franchise in match no. 69 against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Yadav has been in the Orange Cap race in full-fledged, as he has registered a total of 640 runs in 14 matches as of now, bagging five half-centuries in the process.

Suryakumar Yadav breaks Sachin Tendulkar's MI record

Suryakumar Yadav shut down his critics again as he hit his 5th half-century of the season against the Punjab Kings (PBKS). Yadav has a total of 640 runs to his name as of now, as he brought up his second 600-run season after achieving it in 2023 for the first time.

In the process, he has managed to surpass another MI legend, Sachin Tendulkar, who boasted of being the highest run-getter for the franchise in a single season of the IPL.

Tendulkar amassed a total of 618 runs in the 2010 season, which Yadav surpassed his tally 15 years later. He is currently third in the Orange Cap race, behind Gujarat's dominant opening pair, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, respectively.
