He praised RCB for their balanced game this year. According to him, RCB fielding has also been sharp this season which gives them the edge.

"Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They’ve batted well and fielded superbly too. Mumbai Indians are close, but they’ve only just started their surge," Gavaskar said.

"The question is whether they can maintain it, as they have three tough matches coming up against top teams. How they carry that momentum will be key. But yes, RCB are definitely the title favourites," he added.

How have RCB performed in IPL 2025?

Bengaluru currently sits in third place on the points table. Out of the 10 matches they have played, they have won seven, and interestingly, six of those wins have come away from home.

Winning on the road isn’t easy in IPL but RCB have managed to stay calm and deliver strong results. That is a big shift from their earlier seasons, where they often depended too much on their home ground' results.
