RR’s 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a rough outing. Coming off a record-breaking hundred in his previous match, the teenager lasted just two balls before being dismissed for a duck.
But what could have been a night to forget was softened by a veteran’s kindness. After the match, Rohit Sharma walked over to Suryavanshi, gave a pat on the back and shared a few words of encouragement.

The moment was picked up by the cameras and didn’t go unnoticed by former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who was on commentary at the time.
“He will learn. Encouraging words from Rohit Sharma there, as well,” Ravi Shastri said during the commentary.

Shastri also pointed out that the support didn’t stop with Rohit.
“Every MI player went past him had a couple of words to say. You don’t need those kind of players every day. 14-year-old, scoring a hundred. Today, he got out on 0, but such is the game. That’s what he will learn,” he added.
