End of the match: CSK 211/5; RCB win by 2 runs

Yash Dayal takes a sigh of relief after a no-ball and full toss went into the stands when CSK needed 13 from 3. He goes on to nail the yorkers as RCB wins by a margin of 2 runs.

Ayush Mhatre misses out on a ton as he tries to go for a six at 94*(47) while Ravindra Jadeja scores an exceptional 77*(45) on a losing cause.

Lungi Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers with his 3/30 in 4 overs in the absence of Josh Hazlewood. RCB go top of the table with 3 matches to go. Romario Shephard has been named as the player of the match.

End of 10 overs: CSK 106/2

The 17-year-old Mhatre has just given Romario Shephard some taste of his own medicine as the batter scores 18 off his first over.

Mhatre, who is unbeaten at 67 off 30, also became the third youngest to score an IPL fifty, is complemented by Ravindra Jadeja, who is 20*(14) so far.

Youngest batters to score an IPL fifty:

14y 32d - V Suryavanshi vs GT,  Apr 28, 2025

17y 175d - R Parag vs DC, May 4 2019

17y 291d - Ayush Mhatre vs RCB, TODAY

The men in yellow need 108 from the final 10 overs to chase down their first 180+ total since the 2018 final.

End of the powerplay: CSK 58/2

Ayush Mhatre continues to impress at the top of the order with a fantastic start—he takes on the veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar and gets 26 off the 4th over. He stays unbeaten at 39*(18).

Krunal Pandya, on the other hand, does well with the ball as he takes the first wicket of the innings, scalping Shaik Rasheed on 14(11).

Lungi Ngidi also strikes in his first over of the season—gets Sam Curran, who got a fifty in the last match, early on in the powerplay.

End of innings: RCB 213/5

CSK's bowlers had managed to slow RCB down with some tight overs and wickets. But then came Romario Shepherd and everything changed.

Walking in with just 14 balls left in the innings -- Shepherd unleashed absolute carnage. He smashed 53 runs off just 14 balls -- including 33 off one over from Khaleel Ahmed -- the most expensive over of the season.

Shepherd’s power-hitting helped RCB rocket to a massive total of 213/5 -- turning the game completely on its head in the final two overs.

End of 12 overs: RCB 122/2

Kohli and Bethell played attacking shots through overs 7 to 10. Bethell hit a fifty and Kohli followed soon after -- reaching his half-century with some stunning boundaries -- including a six and two fours off Jadeja in the 11th over.

The pair added 97 runs before Pathirana broke the stand. He dismissed Bethell with a top-edge caught brilliantly by Brevis. Soon after, Kohli was dismissed for 62 -- caught at backward point.

End of powerplay: RCB 71/0

RCB made a flying start in the powerplay. Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli came out all guns blazing - taking full advantage of a flat pitch.

Khaleel Ahmed was expensive -- conceding 32 runs in his two overs. Noor Ahmad also went for runs in his only over.

Bethell smashed 42* off 23 and Kohli looked in ominous touch with 29* off just 13 balls -- already hitting three sixes. RCB dominated the first six overs without losing a wicket.

7:05 pm: Josh Hazlewood is not featuring in the starting lineup of RCB. Advantage CSK?

7:01 pm: CSK win the toss and elect to field first.

6:30 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7pm IST.
