As Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru face off in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025, things have heated up off the field, too. This match is taking place at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh.

While fans from both sides showed up in big numbers, not everything went smoothly for RCB supporters. Several fans posted on social media claiming they were not being allowed to carry RCB flags inside the venue.

Some said PBKS security guards and even local fans were objecting to the flags being waved around. One frustrated fan wrote that he came all the way to support his team but was stopped at the gate just because he was holding an RCB flag.

As the game goes on, it’s Rajat Patidar who’s back and leading RCB today. He won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to make early use of the grass-covered pitch. Josh Hazlewood returned to the playing XI.

PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer said he would’ve liked to bowl first too but backed his team to perform well while batting. The Kings made one change as they bring in Azmatullah for Marco Jansen.

This match is especially crucial since both teams have topped the points table and are just one win away from securing a spot in the IPL 2025 final.

But while the action is fierce on the field, the fan flag row outside the stadium has added another twist to the day.

What are fans saying about the RCB flag issue?
