Jasprit Bumrah once again rose to the occasion in the recent IPL Eliminator match. His bowling not only turned the game in Mumbai Indians’ favour but also sparked a comparison with Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.

As Gujarat Titans threatened to pull off a thrilling chase -- it was Bumrah’s deadly precision that halted their charge and left former cricketers in awe. The five-time champions had posted 228/5 and Gujarat were going well at 151/2 when Bumrah stepped in.

What followed was classic Bumrah: calm, clinical and completely game-changing.

What did Manoj Tiwary say about Jasprit Bumrah?

Bumrah’s dismissal of Washington Sundar - who had smashed 48 off 24 balls at a strike rate of 200 - proved to be the key moment in the match. It broke Gujarat’s momentum, triggered a collapse and put MI firmly in control.

Former India batter Manoj Tiwary didn’t hold back in his praise on Cricbuzz. He drew a striking parallel with one of cricket’s most iconic rivalries.

"Bumrah did his work like he always does. If he had not taken Washington's wicket… the match might have been a lot more tight. I used to remember Shane Warne being haunted by Sachin Tendulkar in his dreams, now in this age, every batter is haunted by Bumrah in their dreams," said Tiwary.

Tiwary also credited Bumrah’s return from injury as the turning point in Mumbai’s campaign.

"The success that MI have now, their mantra has been Bumrah… When Bumrah is there, their bowling gets so strong that more than half of the work is sorted for the captain," he said.

With 18 wickets in 11 matches and an economy of just 6.36, Bumrah heads into Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings as Mumbai’s biggest weapon.
