Rajat Patidar has etched his name in IPL history. Not just as the man who led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their maiden title after 18 long years.

But as one of the only few captains to win the IPL in their very first season at the helm. Patidar was selected as captain in a season of big changes for RCB.

He now stands alongside some elite names who achieved the rare feat of winning the title in their debut season as skipper. This is not a list that changes often.

In fact, before 2025, only three captains had ever lifted the IPL trophy in their first season in charge. And all three names brought something special to the table when they led their teams to glory.
