Son Heung-min could be heading for his final few games in a Tottenham shirt. The club has decided to explore a sale for their long-serving captain, but there’s a twist — they won’t do it just yet.
With Son entering the final year of his contract and turning 33 in July, Spurs are reportedly looking to cash in rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
But before any handshake deals are made, Son has a key role to play in Tottenham’s upcoming tour of South Korea.
The club is commercially obligated to feature Son in a friendly against Newcastle on August 3 at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
That means any transfer talk has to wait until after he takes center stage in his home country — quite literally a farewell tour, if things go that way, as per reports (via The Times).

Why Tottenham wants to sell Son Heung-min this summer?
New head coach Thomas Frank is ready to reshape the squad. And while Son remains a fan favorite and marketing machine, the club is weighing football value against commercial pull.
Spurs exercised a one-year extension in January but couldn’t tie Son down to a longer deal. That left the door open.
Interest is already knocking, with Saudi clubs circling once again — including Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr. Fenerbahce, led by Jose Mourinho, is also reportedly in the race.
All of them know the value of a forward who can still find the net — and sell shirts from Riyadh to Busan.
Son, who has scored 173 goals in 454 games for Spurs, had a quiet season by his standards. He finished with seven goals in the Premier League, the first time since his debut year he failed to hit double digits.
But he did get a trophy — lifting the Europa League — something even Harry Kane’s bookshelf is still missing.
Spurs will travel across Asia in preseason, including a historic North London Derby in Hong Kong. Whether Son finishes that trip in Spurs white or starts packing for a new club remains to be seen.
