Indian football: Lallianzuala Chhangte and Manisha Kalyan win AIFF Player of the Year awards image

Mumbai City FC star Lallianzuala Chhangte and Apollon Ladies FC forward Manisha Kalyan bagged the 2022-23 AIFF senior men's and women's Player of the Year awards respectively.

While it was Chhangte's first-ever POTY award, Kalyan became the first player since Bala Devi to win back-to-back awards in the women's category.

Chhangte won the Indian Super League Player of the Season award in the 2022-23 campaign by scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. He was the highest Indian goalscorer in the league.

He also became the second Indian player after Sunil Chhetri to bag the Best Player of the Season award in the ISL.

Among the other award winners are Hyderabad FC's Akash Mishra and Gokulam Kerala's Shilji Shaji bagged the Emerging Player of the Year awards while Clifford Miranda who guided Odisha FC to their first-ever trophy win in the Super Cup 2023 won the Coach of the Year along with India women's U17 coach Priya PV.
