Cristiano Ronaldo is 40 and still playing at the top level, and a recent Whoop fitness analysis has clocked his biological age at 28.9.
That’s a level few athletes can match. Cedric Soares, a Euro 2016 winner alongside Ronaldo for Portugal - now at Sao Paulo - told ESPN Brasil [via Dioguinho] how the Al-Nassr star still dominates after two decades at the top.
"He’s a winner, he strives for excellence every day," Cedric said about his time with the national team.
He explained how Ronaldo created a culture of focus by eliminating distractions during international duty.
"In the national team, he used to say: ‘No phones, let’s go to the room and talk a little.’ He shares his experiences and daily life, tells stories. He’s a great professional and the results are obvious."

Cedric also revealed one of the most unusual pieces advice he got from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

"He stops using his phone at certain times. He says it affects his sleep, so he leaves it outside the bedroom.
"There was a time when he told me, ‘Cedric, you can’t use 5G because it can affect your sleep.’ That was when 5G came along. I don’t know if he still does it, but he blocked the signal to sleep x hours.”
Ronaldo's record of 138 goals in 210 appearances puts him top of both tallies in international football. Portugal's qualification campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in September with games away at Armenia and Hungary.
