Manchester United are going through a full-fledged transformation this summer under the leadership of Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils desperately need to refresh their roster, and therefore, they have allowed some of the fringe players to leave the club as their contracts ran out.

United, until now, have only signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are closely working with a couple of players.

However, amid all the transfer rumours, recent updates from BILD's Christian Falk suggest that United have shown interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.

United are looking for a midfielder enforcer type profile who can bring a lot of athleticism, guile and versatility. Nmecha fits the profile perfectly as he is often hailed for his work ethic and athleticism.

However, Nmecha isn't a defensive midfielder, he is more of a box-to-box profile similar to his compatriot Leon Goretzka.

Previous reports have suggested that he could be available for £40m ($53.8m), and at that price, he could be a decent option for the Red Devils.

A few days ago, there were reports of United chasing Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. So it remains to be seen if INEOS chiefs make a move for both Nmecha and Ndidi, considering they are different profiles.

What could Dortmund star Felix Nmecha bring to Manchester United?

Interestingly, Nmecha is familiar with the city of Manchester as he spent his youth career at Manchester City. He even featured for their senior team for a couple of matches.

He established himself at Wolfsburg, where he grew his stature in a couple of seasons. Eventually, he moved to Dortmund in 2023, and his career took an upward curve.

The 2024/25 campaign was his best in her of goals output. He featured in 39 appearances across competitions and scored six goals, including the ongoing Club World Cup

The 24-year-old is in good form with a couple of goals in three appearances in the Club World Cup, hence attracting more interest.

Nmecha averaged 1.06 takeons, 1.31 interceptions, 1.35 aerials won with a decent 88% passing accuracy per 90 minutes as per FBref

While the German international fits the profile, there are still doubts over his quality and whether he could replace either of Manuel Ugarte or Casemiro in the United midfield.
