Manchester United’s summer transfer window has been buzzing — and this time, it’s Bryan Mbeumo again in the spotlight.

The Brentford forward has apparently made it crystal clear: he wants to wear red next season. United have reportedly stepped up, made contact, and despite Brentford playing hardball, confidence remains high at Old Trafford.

United’s need for a reliable right-sided attacker is no secret. And Mbeumo, fresh off a 20-goal season, fits the bill.

Spurs and Newcastle have looked on, but it’s United who’ve been the busiest. The Red Devils have submitted two offers already. Neither has met Brentford’s full asking price, but there’s optimism that a deal is close.

Fabrizio Romano, never far from a transfer saga, shared: “The negotiations for Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United remain underway. Direct contacts ongoing.”

Mbeumo’s own stance has pushed things along.

According to reports, he told Brentford and even his old boss Thomas Frank — now at Spurs — that he only wants United if a move happens this summer. No VAR needed for that decision.

Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United: Why the delay?

Brentford are known for driving a tough bargain. And this case is no different. While United’s latest offer reportedly totals £62.5 million, Brentford are holding out for more — closer to £70 million guaranteed.

Transfer insider Duncan Castles (via Football 365) noted: “The current offer from Manchester United… is over £60m. However, Brentford… want £70m guaranteed for the player.”

With add-ons and structure proving key in talks, United remain calm. The club has funds, but they’re playing it smart. There’s no panic at Carrington, just patience.

Despite the delay, insiders insist it’s a matter of when, not if. Mbeumo has already packed his intentions — now it’s about reaching the right fee.

If this deal crosses the line, Mbeumo would become one of United’s most expensive signings ever.
