Bettinelli, who arrived at the Blues from Fulham in 2021, made only one appearance for Chelsea in four years.
Romano's report also suggested that Bettinelli would also be a part of Guardiola's squad for the Club World Cup. Man City are set to face Wydad AC in the first match of the competition on June 18 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
