Chelsea were left with a big decision on their hands, whether or not to extend Jadon Sancho’s tenure at the club by signing him on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
He joined the club on loan, with a deal in place for him to join on an obligation after his first season at the club.
It later emerged that Chelsea could pay a small fee to send Sancho back to Old Trafford should they be unsatisfied with what they had seen from him.
If a report by The Athletic is to be believed, Sancho will not be joining the club on a permanent basis.
The report goes on to say that this is because a deal couldn’t be agreed between both parties over his new salary, which was believed to be far lower than what he was already earning.
Sancho’s final contribution for the Blues was arguably his best. The winger curled home a brilliant goal in the latter stages of the Conference League final against Real Betis.

With Sancho now not a part of next season’s plans, it looks as if the Blues are going to be looking elsewhere to fill the void on the left wing.
Chelsea have been strongly linked to the signing of a new left-winger this summer, with them having a preference for them to be right-footed.
Reports have claimed they are very keen on signing Jamie Gittens, with the Borussia Dortmund man expected to be on the move during this transfer window.
