Chelsea are looking to add to their defensive unit over the offseason. The club struggled with injuries this season, and with the added pressure of Champions League football, Enzo Maresca will need to ensure he has replacements for all positions.
Now, the Chelsea boss has his eyes set on an FA Cup winner who grew up in the Chelsea academy.
Who does Enzo Maresca want to sign?
The Chelsea manager is hoping to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace to help boost his defense, according to GiveMeSport. Guehi enjoyed success throughout a fantastic Palace season which saw the team win the FA Cup against Manchester City.
Chelsea are hoping to get a good deal on Guehi, with his contract expiring next summer. Tottenham had a bid rejected for the defender in the January transfer window, with Palace keen on getting a high price for Guehi.
Guehi started his career in the Chelsea Academy but didn't have a big chance to break into the first team. The Englishman also played for Swansea before spending the last four seasons at Crystal Palace.
The Englishman would be a valuable asset for Maresca's team. Guehi ranked first in duels won for Crystal Palace this season, as well as registering the best percentage of accurate passes. The 26-year-old shows great composure on the ball, even under pressure.

Guehi could come into the Chelsea backline alongside new signee Mamadou Sarr. Chelsea have also signed Liam Delap from Ipswich, and it's said that Maresca is making it a priority to sign another forward, as well.
