Arsenal have been quite active in the ongoing summer transfer window in order to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.

Following the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke, Arsenal are reportedly set to confirm their fifth one of the summer, Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners secured a second-place finish in the Premier League for the third consecutive time, counting the last season, where they also failed to claim any other trophies.

Now, Arsenal are on their pre-season tour and their head coach, Mikel Arteta, was asked to share his thoughts on his squad's chances of winning the Premier League in the upcoming campaign.

What did Mikel Arteta say about Arsenal's chances in the 2025/26 Premier League?

Arteta has expressed confidence in his squad, claiming the Premier League title next season, while stating that the competition is 'getting more and more competitive each year.'

"Yes I do. It is getting more and more competitive each year. The level is increasing. We know that so our demands have to increase as well. But we have also been very active in the market," as per BBC Sport.

"We have to improve the players we already have, which is a massive objective after that. And then, set the right fundamentals and the right principles in pre-season to get the team ready with the best possible shape and availability to start the season."

Arteta went on to claim that there are about eight clubs capable of winning the Premier League and added,

"Every year we have to see how things develop, but I see the right balance in terms of maturity, experience, youth, hunger - all these ingredients are there."

"The thing is there are another six, seven, eight clubs in the league that have the right ingredients to win and there is only going to be one winner.

"So we have to focus a lot on the things that we can control, that we can do, to achieve what we want at the end of the season."

Arteta & Co. are set to face Manchester United in their opening match of the Premier League on August 17, at Old Trafford.
