Just days before the Wimbledon 2025 final, Indian cricket great Virat Kohli shared his personal favourite for the men’s singles title.
Kohli, who was seen enjoying the tournament live from Centre Court alongside wife Anushka Sharma, didn’t shy away from naming Novak Djokovic as the man he hopes lifts the trophy once again.
Kohli has been a known admirer of athletes who thrive under pressure, and the 38-year-old Serbian has done just that in this tournament.
As Djokovic chases history at the All England Club, Kohli’s prediction has stirred excitement among fans of both cricket and tennis. Here’s what Kohli told Star Sports about Djokovic and the upcoming final.

Virat Kohli picks Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon 2025 final
Kohli, speaking to Star Sports at Wimbledon, clearly stated that he’s rooting for Djokovic to win the title and also hopes to see a high-voltage final against Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.
According to Kohli, Djokovic has shown immense dedication to his craft over the years, and winning another Slam would only confirm his greatness. He mentioned how he’s been in contact with Djokovic over messages and praised the Serbian legend’s humility.
“Look, I've been in touch with Novak for a while now. We've exchanged some messages. He's been incredibly gracious and kind to stay in touch," Kohli told Star Sports.

"So, I'd say I want Novak and Carlos to be in the final, and ideally for Novak to win this one-because that would be a tremendous achievement for him at this stage of his career,” he added.
Kohli believes if Djokovic secures this win, his place in the “greatest of all time” debate will be undeniable.
“And, you know, in the comparison or conversation about being the greatest of all time, he'd be right up there with anyone else-if not number one-with the maximum number of Grand Slam titles. He deserves it. Given the amount of hard work he's put in, I really hope he plays Carlos in the final and wins,” he added.
How has Djokovic performed so far at Wimbledon 2025?
Djokovic has had a challenging yet inspiring journey at this year’s tournament. In his last match against Alex de Minaur, things didn’t begin well.
The Serbian dropped the first set 1-6 but quickly found his rhythm. With composed and aggressive play, he took the next three sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, moving into the quarter-finals.
This victory marked Djokovic’s 101st Wimbledon win. If he wins the title this time, it would be his eighth at Wimbledon and a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam overall.
