Will Jasprit Bumrah play in 3rd Test at Lord's? Shubman Gill gives one-word update image

Indian cricket team bounced back in style in the five-match Test series against England on Sunday as they thrashed the hosts by 336 runs at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

After losing the first Test at Headingley, Leeds by five wickets, the visitors needed to make a strong comeback to keep the series alive.

It was always going to be tough in Birmingham, considering India's track record at the venue. The Indian team had never won a Test at Edgbaston in their last eight attempts and had lost seven of them.

The young Indian side also missed their talismanic bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the second Test to manage his workload.

However, Bumrah's absence was hardly felt as his replacement Akash Deep picked 10 wickets in the match, including six in the second innings, as England were bowled out in each inning.

After registering an emphatic win, captain Shubman Gill addressed the burning question. He provided an update on Bumrah's condition and whether he would start at Lord's. Speaking to the broadcaster, Gill said: "Definitely."

Dissecting his team's performance, the skipper added: "All the things we spoke about after the first game, we were spot on. Our bowling and fielding were tremendous to see. We knew if we got 400-500 on this kind of wicket, we'd be in the game. Not every time we're going to drop that many catches.

"He bowled with so much heart. The areas and lengths he hit, he was getting the ball to move both ways. On wickets like this, it's difficult to do that. I'd say I'm feeling comfortable with my game. If we win the series with my contributions, I'll feel happier. I've said this before, want to play as a batsman, think as a batsman."
