Who won Global Super League 2025? Imran Tahir leads Guyana Amazon Warriors to maiden GSL title image

The wait is over for the Guyana Amazon Warriors as they laid their hands on the Global Super League 2025 trophy. On Friday night in Providence, the Imran Tahir-led Guyana defeated defending champions Rangpur Riders by 32 runs in the final to win their first-ever GSL title.

Powered by top-order batting and good bowling, Guyana brought the trophy home in front of their home crowd. Put in to bat first, the hosts scored 196 for 4 on the board.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Johnson Charles formed a 121-run stand that set the tone for the innings. Charles retired out after scoring 67 off 48 balls while Gurbaz smashed 66 in just 38 deliveries.

Late cameo from Romario Shepherd, smashing 28 off just nine balls ensured a good finish for the champions.

Dwaine Pretorius, Imran Tahir lead Guyana Amazon Warriors to maiden GSL title 

Chasing 197, Rangpur Riders never found momentum. Their innings began on the wrong foot with the early run-out of Ibrahim Zadran.

And by the end of the powerplay, they were reeling at 32 for 3. Dwaine Pretorius was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 37.

He dismissed key batters, including the top scorer Iftikhar Ahmed who made 46-off-29. Tahir then struck twice in the middle overs as Gudakesh Motie chipped in with two wickets.

Mahidul Islam Ankon swung hard for his 30 off 17 but Rangpur never recovered from their mid-innings collapse. They were bowled out for 164 in 19.4 overs.

For Guyana, this title marks a breakthrough moment. They finished on top with Tahir's leadership and a complete team performance delivering the glory.
