Wickets can be worth their weight in gold, especially in T20 cricket. However, being a bowler in T20s is tough. Especially with flat tracks and batsman-friendly rules.

This was the case with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowler Harshal Patel during their bout with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 10 April 2023. Despite Patel taking two wickets in the last over of the game, LSG successfully chased down RCB's score of 212, winning by the mere margin of one wicket with the last ball of the game.

Patel may have left the pitch disappointed that he was unable to secure the victory, however, his spell of 2/48 in 4 overs meant he had crossed the 100-wicket mark in his IPL career. In doing so, he also became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 IPL wickets.

Here is a list of the fastest bowlers to take 100 wickets in IPL history.

Who is the fastest bowler to take 100 IPL wickets?

Patel may be the fastest Indian to reach the 100-wicket mark in the IPL, however, Punjab Kings' speedster Kagiso Rabada is the fastest to achieve the milestone. The South African reached the 100-wicket mark by picking Wriddhiman Saha's wicket in a match against Gujarat Titans on April 13.

He has now overtaken former Mumbai Indians (MI) bowler Lasith Malinga who was the fastest bowler to reach 100 IPL wickets, achieving the feat in 70 innings.

They are followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took 81 innings to reach as many dismissals.
