The blockbuster event of the year, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, is less than a week away.

The Subcontinent is full of excitement, and the Indian fans are as ready as ever. The tournament returns to the country for the first time since 2011 — the last time India won the coveted trophy.

Prior to that, the only other time India was champion was when they won a maiden World Cup title in 1983. 

This year, the curtain raiser will witness a rematch of the 2019 World Cup final, as reigning champions England take on New Zealand in Hyderabad.

India will play their opening match of the World Cup against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.

The two semi-finals will be held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, while the final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

What is the format of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup?

A total of 10 teams will participate in the World Cup. Each team plays the other nine in a round-robin format, with the top four qualifying for the semi-finals.

What time will matches start during the ICC Cricket World Cup?

All matches will either start at 10:30 a.m. IST or at 2:00 p.m. IST. Here's how that looks in some of the other major cricketing territories.
