Playing for England, Anderson left a significant impact, especially on England's red-ball side. The great man called time on his career last year in July after the first Test against the West Indies at the Home of Cricket, Lord's.
Anderson ended his Test career with 704 wickets, becoming the third-highest wicket-taker in the world in the red-ball format. He represented England in 188 Tests, 194 ODIs, and 19 T20Is in a career that lasted for two decades.
Anderson has now singled out Glenn McGrath, the Australian great, as the most precise bowler who has often troubled England over time.

McGrath represented Australia in 124 Tests, 250 ODIs, and 2 T20Is, with 563 wickets in the longest format and 381 wickets in ODIs. During his time, McGrath was one bowler who often troubled the English batters and made life difficult for them.
Anderson, while talking to the Sky Sports, was asked about the most precise bowler he had seen in terms of seam control and accuracy. Answering the question, Anderson said;
"I would say probably Glenn McGrath, someone whom I have watched a lot of, played against, and admired for a long time, he was someone who was incredibly skillful, relentless, like he would run in all day and hit the same area."
Anderson also mentioned how McGrath was ruthless against England, disrupting the English batters
"He had a huge amount of success against England and everyone else. But the games I remember, it was England that he was tormenting, so yeah, for me there's no one better than him."
Both Anderson and McGrath have been the stalwarts of their nations and the cricketing world. Both the pacers have left a significant impact on world cricket and have inspired a whole new generation of fast bowlers. With over 1200 wickets between them, both the legends are celebrated as the masters of pace bowling.
