It is not often that a 14-year-old overshadows senior men's and women's international teams on tour. But that is exactly what Vaibhav Suryavanshi is doing in England.

The teenage batting sensation from Bihar has lit up the India U19 tour with outstanding batting - including a 78-ball 143 against England U19 in Worcester. Now even English analysts are calling him a generational talent: one who could go beyond Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

What makes Suryavanshi's rise remarkable is not just his age but the sheer impact he has had. He has already scored 355 runs in just four ODIs at a strike rate of 174.

He has smashed a total 27 sixes. His batting have not gone unnoticed - with fans, journalists and even opposition players queueing up to talk about the young left-hander.

What did Daniel Peacock say about Vaibhav Suryavanshi?

Daniel Peacock, an ECB cricket analyst involved in the U19 series, is convinced that the buzz around Suryavanshi is more than justified.

"We've watched and witnessed a young star in the making. I would go as far as to say he is probably the best 14-year-old in any sport that I've seen live," Peacock told Times of India.

"I think the sentiment in England is that we are watching someone very special - and the expectancy is Tendulkar-Kohli-level, or even beyond," he added.

Normally, U19 matches don't draw large crowds in the UK. But ever since Suryavanshi took centre stage, fans (especially from the British-Indian community) have been showing up in numbers.

Hype around Vaibhav Suryavanshi reaches England

BBC, The Athletic, and Getty have all been on the scene, covering what feels like the arrival of a prodigy. Children line up for autographs, and parents drive hours just to watch him bat.

Ralphie Albert, who bowled to Suryavanshi in both the ODI and Youth Test matches, admitted the young opener's fearlessness stood out.

"You'd think maybe he'd pull back a bit after the ODIs, but he's kept going. He's a really good player," said the England U19 spinner.

Despite efforts to shield him from the media spotlight, the Vaibhav Suryavanshi storm shows no signs of slowing. For many, it feels like they are witnessing the start of something historic.
