Shubman Gill: Is Red-ball captain back in T20Is?
According to a report from PTI, Test captain Shubman Gill is likely to be named in the Asia Cup squad.
He last played a T20I back in July 2024 but his batting in IPL 2025 - where he scored 650 runs in 15 matches make him a strong candidate for the top order.
Yashasvi Jaiswal: Explosive left-hander ready to return
Jaiswal has also not played in a T20I since July 2024 but his aggressive approach and left-right opening combination with Gill could be a decisive factor.
Despite starting slowly in IPL 2025, the Rajasthan Royals opener ended with 559 runs from 14 matches.
Sai Sudharsan: IPL 2025 Orange Cap winner pushing for selection
Perhaps the most interesting name in the mix is Sai Sudharsan. The Gujarat Titans batter won the Orange Cap in IPL 2025.
He scored 759 runs with one century and six fifties. His only T20I appearance was against Zimbabwe last year but his recent form has reportedly caught the selectors' attention. Whether he breaks into the final squad remains to be seen.
