The long wait to see Rohit Sharma back in action in the 50-over format may soon be over. The India opener was spotted training in Mumbai this week. This marks his first major practice session since the IPL 2025 ended.

Under the guidance of former teammate and coach Abhishek Nayar, Rohit was seen practicing batting and working on his fitness in an intense net session. Since stepping away from Test cricket earlier this year, Rohit Sharma has not featured in any international match.

The training video, now doing the rounds on social media, showed the 38-year-old going through multiple drills with a clear focus on timing and shot placement.

The session is part of his preparation to make a strong return in ODIs, a format he has confirmed he wants to play until at least the 2027 World Cup.

Rohit now has 756 points, just behind India’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill, who leads with 784.
