Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant marked his return to Test cricket 4 months post the harrowing defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024/25 with a brilliant century against England at Headingly in Leeds.

The wicket-keeper batsman came in to bat at no. 5 when India were 221/3, took his own sweet time, and smashed it all around the park to help India get to a formidable score.

Pant remained unbeaten on 65 of 102 deliveries at Stumps on Day 1, ably supporting his captain, Shubman Gill, who brought up his first Test century after being appointed as the skipper of the national team.

The duo came out to bat on Day 2 with the same intent, which powered India past the 400-run mark.

Which Indian wicketkeepers have scored the most centuries in Test cricket?

Pant brought up his seventh ton in the longest format in style, as he hit Shoaib Bashir for a one-handed six, clearing the cow corner boundary comfortably. This milestone off 146 deliveries takes him past one of India's finest legends, MS Dhoni, who held the previous record with six centuries.
