Legendary India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin went wicketless against England in their 1st innings, on Day 2 of the 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam.

It was an extremely rare instance of Ashwin failing to scalp a single wicket in an innings of a Test match, and it's all the more shocking considering the fact that this is a home Test.

Although Ashwin could not work his magic this time around, Jasprit Bumrah's 6-45 helped India restrict England to 253, helping the team earn a hefty 143-run lead.

While Ashwin will be happy about the team effort, he will surely be disappointed with himself. Indeed, the 37-year-old offie not only went wicketless, but also leaked runs and looked out of control on a placid track.

The Sporting News takes a look at how many times Ashwin has gone wicketless in an innings.
