According to The Times of India, the selectors will meet in the coming weeks to finalise India's T20I squad for the Asia Cup. Iyer's name is expected to be in contention after a standout IPL 2025 with Punjab Kings where he scored 604 runs at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 175.
He also scored 480 runs in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 68.5 for Mumbai. BCCI sources told the publication that Iyer's spin handling makes for a strong case for the upcoming four-Test home series against West Indies and South Africa.
