The tournament is being held over four host cities in Pakistan—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi—with 34 games in total. That consists of 30 league-stage matches, followed by three playoff matches and a final to determine the new champions.

Islamabad United will be the defending champions going into the season, but there is expected to be stiff competition from Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans.
Each of the six teams will play each other twice in the group stage, with the top four advancing to the knockout stage.
