The Pakistan cricket team's participation in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup has been officially confirmed on Sunday after the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave the green signal to travel to India in October.

While ICC released the 2023 World Cup schedule last month which featured Pakistan, the team's participation was still not confirmed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were yet to get the nod from the country's government.

The news comes as a good news for cricket fans across the globe as the high-voltage India vs Pakistan match will take place at the 2023 World Cup.

India were initially supposed to face their rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15 but due to security concerns arising on that day which coincides with the first day of the North Indian festival Navratri, which is celebrated in a big manner across the state of Gujarat, the date was preponed to October 14.
