KL Rahul has been one of the most dependable and consistent performers for the Indian cricket team in the five-match Test series on English soil.
Rahul, who was promoted as an opener in the England series after the newly appointed captain Shubman Gill decided to come out at the fourth position in the lineup.
At the opening slot, Rahul has amassed 525 runs in nine innings as he maintains an average of 58.33 and has scored four centuries. The Karnataka-born player is the series' second-highest run scorer after India skipper Gill.

On Day 1 of the fifth and final Test of the series, Rahul was dismissed for just 14 runs off 40 deliveries by Chris Woakes. Although the right-hand batter could not contribute much with runs, he did manage to unlock a new milestone on English soil.

With the 40 balls he faced in the first innings of the fifth Test, Rahul became only the third Indian batter to face more than 100 deliveries in a Test series on English soil. Legendary Sunil Gavaskar leads the pack as of now.
