What did Yashasvi Jaiswal write to the MCA?
Jaiswal had initially planned to shift to Goa citing personal and family reasons. But in a recent email to MCA officials, he explained that those plans were now on hold and expressed his wish to continue playing for Mumbai.
“I the undersigned would request your goodself to consider my request in withdrawing my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa which for now has been curtailed! So I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season! I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI nor to Goa Cricket Association,” wrote Jaiswal, as quoted by The Indian Express.
Why was Yashasvi Jaiswal considering a move to Goa?
Back in April, Jaiswal had said that Goa had offered him a captaincy role -- something that attracted him as a long-term opportunity. He had said he wanted to help Goa progress deeper into the Ranji Trophy.
“Goa has thrown me a new opportunity and has offered me a leadership role… This was an (important) opportunity which came my way and I just took it,” he said at the time.
Will Mumbai accept his return?
