India women seal historic 3-2 T20I series win in England

Coming to England, the Indian women's side had a lot of purpose and a huge task in hand. Having never won a 5-match T20I series on English soil provided the side with some extra motivation and a chance to script history.

India started the series with a dominating 97-run win in Nottingham, where Smriti Mandhana brought up her first-ever T20I hundred. The good work and dominance continued in the second T20I as well, where India defeated the hosts by 24 runs on the back of an exceptional all-round display by Amanjot Kaur (63 runs and 1 wicket).

England showed a fightback in the 3rd T20I at the Kenington Oval, winning a thrilling contest by 5 runs. With the series poised at 2-1, India yet again put up a dominating display in the 4th T20I at Manchester, where they clinched the game by 6 wickets and with 3 overs to spare.

The last game of the series ended with England registering a consolation win in the very last ball of the game.

While the scoreline showed 3-2, it could well have been a clean sweep in favour of India, had India converted some of the key moments during the series. The visitors were the dominant side throughout the series and showed some great potential, and as the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 approaches, this triumph gives India both momentum and belief.

Having won the T20I series, India would now eye an ODI series victory. The ODI series is all set to kick off in Southampton on July 16th.
