This is the first time Pakistan has returned to ODI action since April, when they were defeated 3-0 by the Michael Bracewell-led New Zealand side.

For every participating country, the major focus in white-ball cricket currently remains the upcoming T20 World Cup in India in early 2026, with ODIs set to take the driver's seat after that.
