Pakistan suffered an embarrassing 202-run defeat against the West Indies in the ODI series decider on August 12. They were bowled out for 92 runs and ended up losing a series to the Caribbean team for the first time in 34 years.
The visitors started the tour well, winning the T20I series 2-1 in Lauderhill and edging past WI in a closely fought first ODI. However, they struggled to maintain momentum and lost the next two matches.
Next, they will prepare for the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates in September, facing India, Oman and the UAE in their group.

As they continue their poor form, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has expressed concerns regarding their chances against India in the upcoming tournament.
What did Basit Ali say about Indi avs Pakistan match in Asia Cup?
In the recent World Championship of Legends tournament, the India Champions refused to face Pakistan Champions both in the league stages and in the semifinals, citing recent cross-border tensions.
It was a major show of symbolism from the Indians. Now, fans are also demanding the team boycott the Asia Cup clash between the two sides on September 14, after being named in the same group.

Speaking about the upcoming competition on his YouTube channel (The Game Plan), Basit Ali, who has played 19 Tests and 50 ODIs for Pakistan, has expressed his wish for India to opt out of playing against Pakistan.
He has slammed Babar Azam and the team for their sustained poor form in the Caribbean, where Babar scored 47, 0, and 9. He added that if Pakistan entered the tournament in the same form, the Indians would thrash them.

"I pray India refuses to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. They will beat us in an unimaginable way," said Basit Ali.
"If we lose to Afghanistan, no one would care much in this country. But everyone goes mad the moment you lose to India," he added.

Notably, Pakistan has continued to fail against India over the last few years, losing their last five encounters after the famous T20 World Cup win in Dubai in 2021.
India convincingly defeated them in the last ICC Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup, Asia Cup, and ODI World Cup, underlining the gulf in quality between the two teams.
