Karun Nair's long wait for a Test comeback has hit a small bump. The Indian batter is expected to return to the playing XI for the first time since 2017.
He suffered a minor injury scare during Wednesday's practice session at Headingley - just two days before the first Test against England.

Injury scare for Karun Nair before crucial Leeds Test
The 33-year-old was struck on the ribs by a delivery from Prasidh Krishna while batting in the nets. Nair looked visibly uncomfortable after the blow and paused his session briefly.
He soon resumed batting though - signaling that the injury was not serious. After the session, he was seen pointing out the affected area to support staff and teammates.
Despite shaking off the blow, Nair didn't have the most fluent day in the nets. He appeared tentative early on against pace, particularly struggling with deliveries outside the off stump from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
His issues continued against spin too - with Ravindra Jadeja bowling him once during a stint. Nair later had a short chat with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak - seemingly making a few tweaks to his stance and trigger movement.
Nair's return to the national setup follows a strong domestic season. His recall is viewed as a chance at redemption for a player who once scored a triple-century in only his third Test.
With India now entering a new phase without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ashwin, Nair's experience could be valuable in a middle-order that remains unsettled.
England have confirmed their XI for the Leeds Test. Chris Woakes returns from injury, replacing Sam Cook.
Ollie Pope retains the No. 3 slot while Jamie Smith continues behind the stumps. India are yet to confirm their final team for the series opener.
