Almost the entire Indian squad played their roles perfectly as India ended a promising tour of the United Kingdom.

Former Australian great Greg Chappell has now heaped praises on one of India's all-rounders, as he prophesied that the young player should play more than 50 Tests.

Washington Sundar should play more than 50 Tests for India: Chappell

Greg Chappell has hailed Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar for his impressive performances in India's recently concluded Test series against England. Sundar was amazing, both with the bat and ball throughout the series, playing a crucial role in India's success.

Sundar made his Test debut for India against Australia in the famous Gabba Test in 2021. The all-rounder, since then, has featured in a total of 13 Tests, scoring 752 runs at 44.24, while taking 32 wickets, including one fifer.

Chappell felt that Sundar has the potential to become India's number one all-rounder and expects him to play more than 50 Tests for his nation. "I will be surprised if Washington Sundar doesn't establish himself as the team's premier all-rounder, who I expect to play in excess of 50 Tests," he wrote in his column for ESPNcricinfo.

In India's 5-match Test series against England, Sundar featured in 4 games, scoring 284 runs at an average of 47.33, which included some match-winning efforts. The all-rounder also picked up 7 wickets at a decent average of 38.
