The legendary South African batter AB De Villiers yet again showed his class on the cricketing field as he led Team South Africa Champions to their maiden WCL title. Four years after he retired from all forms of cricket, the legendary batter dominated WCL, as if he had never really left the game.

Former South African pacer Dale Steyn has heaped praises on his former teammate, as he believes the legendary cricketer is still way better than half of the IPL internationals. 

Dale Steyn shared how AB De Villiers is still way better than half the IPL internationals

De Villiers established complete authority with the bat throughout the World Championship of Legend. The batter ended the league with 431 runs in 6 innings at a staggering average of 143.67, which included three centuries. 

His dominating knock of 120 off just 60 balls led his side to ultimate glory as the Proteas chased down 196 in just 16.5 overs against Pakistan Champions in the Finals. 

Dale Steyn took to X as he shared his opinions about the legendary batter. Steyn said, "Unpopular/Popular opinion. Ab is still better than half the internationals at IPL. Maybe even more."

De Villiers' last featured in the IPL back in 2021, where he represented the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In his long career, the batter played a total of 184 IPL games. He amassed 5162 runs at an average of nearly 40 in 170 innings.

The great man from South Africa has been one of the most loved cricketers worldwide and especially in India, which he calls his second home. 

His dominance at the WCL has now left the cricketing fans in awe. Even at 41 years, the great man's clean stroke play and six-hitting remain of the highest order and can easily beat some of the modern-day cricketers.
