Bangladesh's purple patch continued as they registered their third consecutive T20I win on home soil against Pakistan in the first match of the ongoing three-game white-ball series.

The Tigers are fresh from beating Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series, where they won back-to-back games after losing the opening match.

Taskin Ahmed launched the initial attack on the Pakistani team as he picked up three wickets for just 22 runs in 3.3 overs, as the visitors were bowled out for just 110 runs in 19.3 overs.

While chasing the paltry total, Bangladesh took only 15.3 overs to go past Pakistan's total. Parvez Hossain starred with the bat for the hosts as he remained not out at 56, while Towhid Hridoy supported with a cameo knock of 36 runs.

Bangladesh script history by beating Pakistan by seven wickets

It was a historic night in Mirpur for the Bangladeshis as they defeated Pakistan for the first time in nine years in the T20 format on home soil. The last time they won against Pakistan at home was in 2016 at the same venue where the Tigers emerged victorious by five wickets.

This was also Bangladesh's fourth win in T20Is against Pakistan in 23 face-to-face clashes.
