Indian cricket team will return to action for the first time since the Sri Lanka ODI series in August as they face Bangladesh in the first match of the two-match Test series in Chennai on September 19.
This will be the first Test match that the Indians will play since their Test series against England which concluded in March with the hosts clinching the series 4-1.

How India could lineup against Bangladesh in 1st Test match in Chennai?
The MA Chidambaram Stadium or 'Chepauk' in Chennai is traditionally known to have a turning track which vastly suits the spinners.
According to The Times of India, the Indian team, consisting of 16 members had their first extensive training session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday, September 16 and the team looked sharp and well-oiled.
Former skipper, Virat Kohli who missed the England series earlier this year was the first one to hit the nets and was accompanied by the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal in the adjacent net as they faced speedster Jasprit Bumrah and veteran R Aswhin.
They were followed by skipper, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan who just joined the team after playing two matches in the Duleep Trophy.
Considering the quality of spin in Bangladesh's squad and a red soil wicket where the game will be played, Sharma predominantly faced spinners.
Followed by them were wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant who might play his first Test since December 2022, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Mohammad Siraj who faced a lot of throwdowns.

Per the TOI report, India are expected to play with three spinners, with seasoned campaigners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja guaranteed to start. The two ace spinners are likely to be accompanied by Kuldeep Yadav while Axar Patel is likely to miss out.
Bumrah will be spearheading the pace bowling attack with Siraj from the other end in the absence of Mohammad Shami.
