James Anderson picked up his 700th Test wicket against India during the fifth Test match in Dharamshala.  The veteran speedster's remarkable feat adds another glorious chapter to his storied career, solidifying his status as one of the game's all-time greats.

Starting the match with 698 wickets to his name, Anderson wasted no time in making history. He scalped the crucial wickets of Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav during India's first innings, reaching the coveted 700-wicket mark and etching his name in cricketing annals.

The road to 700 Test wickets has been paved with challenges and triumphs for Anderson. His journey began with a stellar debut against Zimbabwe in 2003, where he announced his arrival on the international stage with a five-wicket haul.

Despite early successes, Anderson faced setbacks, including a stress fracture that sidelined him for most of 2006. However, he persevered and made a remarkable comeback, forming formidable partnerships with bowlers like Stuart Broad and Andrew Caddick.

Anderson's legacy extends far beyond his 700 Test wickets. He has been an integral part of England's triumphs in three Ashes campaigns and became the first English bowler to reach the milestone of 500 Test wickets. His ability to swing the ball with precision and extract movement from seemingly lifeless pitches has earned him accolades from cricketing pundits and fans worldwide.

His 500th Test wicket was claimed against Kraigg Brathwaite in a Lord's Test against the West Indies. As Anderson surpassed Anil Kumble (619) in the all-time Test wicket-takers list in 2023, the 700-mark loomed large on the horizon.

Just over a year later, on Kumble's home soil, Anderson completed the historic milestone in style against one of the most formidable Test sides in the world. His relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering dedication to his craft have solidified his legacy as one of cricket's greatest fast bowlers.

Which team has Anderson taken the most wickets against?

With 149 scalps, Anderson has been most successful against India. Againt two other teams, he has more than 100 wickets - Australia (117) and South Africa (103).
