The Red Devils are reeling off the back of their worst campaign since relegation in 1974, having finished a Premier League era-low 15th and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, and the summer has not provided much respite so far.
Only Matheus Cunha has joined, alongside January recruit Diego Leon, with Bryan Mbeumo's transfer dragging out and the likes of Marcus Rashford and Aleajandro Garnacho proving very difficult to move on.
