The Asian Games 2023 will be held between September 23 and October 8, 2023, in Hangzhou, China.

The flagship continental event, which was shifted from 2022 to 2023 to the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature 40 sports this year with the best athletes in Asia competing for glory.

India have seen a rise in their participation over the last decade with the country sending as many as 570 athletes in 36 different sports in 2018.

Ace Indian star Deepika Kumari failed to make the club in February 2023 but Atanu Das will compete once again in the Asian Games this time.

Badminton

The selection for the Badminton squad was based on trials but six ace Indian shuttlers were selected on the basis of their rankings. Those shuttlers are V Sindhu, Treesa Jolly, Gayatri Gopichand, HS Prannoy, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.
