Sabrina Ionescu is getting used to this sensation — hands clasped around a 3-Point Contest trophy as cheers cajole through the air.

The Liberty markswoman already captured one title in the event, during a memorable outburst that saw her sink all but two shots in the contest’s final round back in 2023.

Now, she has another. Ionescu downed Dream guard Allisha Gray in the final, securing her place in three-point shooting lore. Ionescu joined Allie Quigley as the only players to claim multiple crowns in the 3-Point Contest.

Ionescu and Clark were a cut above the rest in the opening round, canning 25 efforts apiece to down their adversaries. Ionescu turned up the screw in the final frame, recording a 30-spot that looked eerily similar to the 37-point showing she put forth two years back.

Gray huffed and puffed, authoring up a solid score in her final bow, but it wasn’t enough to outshine Ionescu, who cemented her place as one of the sport’s finest shooters on Friday night. She was joined in the limelight by fellow New Yorker Natasha Cloud, the winner of the 2025 Skills Challenge.

It wasn’t the Caitlin Clark-fueled frenzy some might’ve hoped for, but Ionescu’s exploits proved there’s plenty of talent dancing atop the hardwood at the moment.

Ionescu's star turn came after her Liberty teammate Natasha Cloud claimed the Skills Challenge crown, giving New York a clean sweep of the night.

The Sporting News tracked live updates from Friday's 3-Point Contest. Below are highlights, analysis, and more as five of the WNBA's finest shooters took aim at one of the league's signature crowns.

WNBA 3-Point Contest updates, results, highlights from 2025 All-Star Weekend

(All times ET)

9:03 p.m.: Ionescu does it again! Gray’s 22 wasn’t enough! Ionescu nabs her second three-point title, joining Allie Quigley as the only players to win multiple 3-Point Contests!

9:02 p.m.: Gray has her work cut out for her. Ionescu dropped a 30-spot to kick off the final round.

9:00 p.m.: Ionescu sets the stage. She’s laced 11 straight to start the contest!

8:52 p.m.: Gray is moving on! She tallied 25, the joint-highest score of the round! It will be Gray vs. Ionescu in the final — a matchup between the winners of the last two three-point shootouts. It always had to happen this way.

8:50 p.m.: Ionescu cans 25! She’ll move onto the final round after sinking 13 of her final 16 attempts. Here comes Gray, the reigning three-point champion. If she goes for 23, she’ll move on to face Ionescu.

8:48 p.m.: Hull downs Citron! She goes for 20, two short of Plum!

8:46 p.m.: Citron goes for 19! She was on form through the first half of the contest before falling off on her money rack.

8:44 p.m.: Plum posts a respectable score of 22 to kick off the proceedings. Up next: Mystics rookie Sonia Citron.

8:43 p.m: Plum leads things off. She picked the left wing as her money rack.

8:35 p.m.: Here come the shooters! Allisha Gray, Kelsey Plum, Lexie Hull, Sabrina Ionescu and Sonia Citron are moments away from showcasing their shooting strokes!

8:26 p.m.: Cloud beats the clock! She wins the 2025 WNBA Skill Challenge!

8:25 p.m.: Wheeler posts a 37.5 second time, a respectable mark. It’s all on Cloud now.

8:22 p.m.: Wheeler has the homecourt advantage — she spent six years with the Fever prior to signing with Seattle in the offseason. But Cloud has plenty of momentum: she’s trying to win the cash prize for her and her girlfriend (and teammate) Izzy Harrison.

8:15 p.m.: The dust settles on the first round of the Skills Challenge. Now, there are just two players left: Liberty guard Natasha Cloud and Storm guard Erica Wheeler. This one is for all the marbles — and a decent chunk of change, too.

8:10 p.m.: There’s a familiar face in the crowd tonight. Caitlin Clark signed up to take part in the All-Star festivities before being struck down by a groin injury. Nevertheless, she’s back at her favorite venue — as a spectator.

8:00 p.m.: The first event of the night — the Skills Competition — is about to start. Allisha Gray, Courtney Williams, Natasha Cloud, Erica Wheeler and Skylar Diggins will slalom through the course in the hopes of determining which talent is the silkiest guard.

The WNBA's 3-Point Contest employs the same format as the NBA's version. That means the four participants will launch shots at five different locations along the arc, with four ball racks consisting of four regular balls (worth one point) and one money ball (worth two points) and one ball rack consisting with five money balls. Players can choose where they would like the money ball rack to be placed along the perimeter.

Located an ocean away are two "Starry Range" spots. Those venues hold one white ball each, worth three points.

The contest is divided into two rounds. The two competitors with the highest scores after the first round will advance to the finale. There, they joust like knights, with the player who sinks the most triples declared the event's winner.
