The Dallas Wings surprised the WNBA world with an injury announcement on Friday night.
They shared that Paige Bueckers is being entered into concussion protocol.
That announcement means Bueckers will miss a minimum of two games.
The rookie sensation will be re-evaluated after the Wings’ game on Tuesday against Seattle.
Bueckers has thus far lived up to the hype as the No. 1 overall pick out of UConn, showing her talent as a scorer, distributor and even defender.
Her injury appeared to occur on a hard fall onto her back and back of her head during Thursday’s loss to the Chicago Sky.
At the time, Bueckers kept playing, so if that was the moment she got hurt, it’s not a great look.
Arike Ogunbowale will probably get even more responsibility in Bueckers’ absence. The former Notre Dame star scored 37 points on Thursday night.
Basketball fans everywhere will now hope for a quick recovery for Bueckers.
