Fever vs. Sky final score, results: Lexie Hull stars as Indiana crushes Chicago image

After a 35-point loss to the Mercury on Thursday, an unlikely star helped the Fever bounce back against their rivals on Saturday.

Lexie Hull scored 17 points and had a +25 rating to lift Indiana to a dominant 92-70 win over the Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The guard, inserted into the starting lineup in Caitlin Clark's absence, was the x-factor for her team, stretching the floor by shooting 4-6 from beyond the arc, which allowed Kelsey Mitchell (26 points, +17) to slice through the paint for easy buckets.

The Fever have looked like a playoff team even without Clark, who has missed the last 10 games with a right groin injury. Indiana won five games in a row in late July and early August and rebounded well on Saturday after back-to-back losses.

Chicago, however, lost eight in a row in the same time frame without Angel Reese, who has been out with a back injury. The Sky look like they are headed for the bottom of the WNBA standings for the second year in a row.

7:20 p.m. — We're under an hour away from tipoff in the fourth meeting of the Fever and Sky this year. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will both be out with injuries.

Is Angel Reese playing today?

Reese is likely to be out for Saturday's game with a back injury. She has not played since July 29 and has missed six of Chicago's last seven games.

Head coach Tyler Marsh indicated on Tuesday that Reese's return is not imminent. "There isn't a concrete timetable. To the extent that I know, it's a back injury and she continues to be day to day," Marsh said. "I think she's progressing, but it's still kind of wait and see."

Is Caitlin Clark playing today?

Clark is also likely to be out for Saturday's game. She has not played since July 15 due to a right groin ailment and has played in just 13 games this season.

Head coach Stephanie White provided an update on Clark on Monday: "It's day-to-day right now, we're putting no timetable on it," White said. "[She is] going through the rehab process, and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint and then get her back to basketball activities. So we're taking it one day at a time, really slow rolling it, slow playing it."
